How to contain the Covid-19 epidemic without blocking all economic and social life? The first – and essential – step is to properly identify the sick. According to epidemiologist Vittoria Colizza, France missed 90% of infected and symptomatic people. A figure that has fallen to 50% but still too high to hope for an effective Test-Tracer-Isolate strategy.
Substantially more aggressive and targeted testing is required to act as a pandemic-fighting tool. Testing strategy needs to be once again the cornerstone of our public health response against #COVID19 to aid control in the upcoming winter months.
