These Regional and Municipal Elections have surprised because, in Lima, the provincial candidates have barely exceeded 25% of the votes. Another characteristic of this election day has been voter absenteeism. In the case of the districts of Metropolitan Lima, Miraflores and San Isidro have been the ones with the highest absenteeism.
In the case of Miraflores, only 86,421 voters (67,482%) have participated and in San Isidro 50,074 (66,190%). These figures contrast with the other districts in which participation has exceeded 70% of voters.
