OPEC+ holds its first in-person ministerial meeting since 2020

VIENNA, Oct. 1, 2022 (Xinhua) The “OPEC +” group is scheduled to hold a ministerial-level meeting in Vienna on Oct. 5, to discuss the future production strategy, according to a statement issued by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) today (Saturday).

This is the first ministerial meeting to be held in the personal presence of the OPEC + alliance since March 2020, when the imposition of restrictions to combat the Covid-19 pandemic led to the meetings of the alliance to be held virtually.

Investors are awaiting the decision from next week’s meeting, as oil prices have recently fallen due to fears of an economic slowdown and lack of demand. /ts/
