Vienna – The ORF law amendment has passed the Council of Ministers. A corresponding government bill will be tabled in the National Council today, Wednesday. The amendment brings a new ORF contribution of 15.30 euros per month (instead of 18.59 euros) in the form of a household fee instead of the current device-linked GIS fee. The ORF also gets more opportunities in the digital space, but has to accept a savings package, restrictions and stricter transparency regulations.
