Since May 16, the Croisette has lived to the rhythm of screenings, red carpets and numerous photocalls. While the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is coming to an end, Orlando Bloom and Geri Halliwell met on the sidelines of the event on the pontoon of the Carlton for the photocall of “Grand Turismo”. The two stars, both dressed in white, lent themselves to the game of photographers. They were then joined by the team of the feature film, in particular the director Neill Blomkamp, but also Archie Madekwe, in particular known for his role in “Midsommar”, or the actor from Germany Maximilian Mundt. Directed by Neill Blomkamp and written by Jason Hall and Zack Baylin, “Gran Turismo” tells the true story of Jann Mardenborough, a young British racing video game prodigal who becomes a true professional racing driver. He participated in the GP3 Series, the 24 hours of Le Mans and the Japanese Super GT series. The film thus looks back on its journey in the iconic atmosphere of the PlayStation game. To play the lead role, Archie Madekwe spent a lot of time behind the wheel. “I drove a lot more than I thought I would,” he said. If Geri Halliwell plays the mother of Jan Mardenborough, Orlando Bloom embodies a marketing director in the field of motorsport. For the actor, “Gran Turismo” shows that everyone can dream big. “You have this very honest, real, true story, which I think is something everyone can relate to,” he said in an interview.
In the cast of the film, we also find David Harbourg, known for his role in the series “Stranger Things”, Darren Bernet, seen in “My first times”, or even Djimon Hounsou, seen in “Shazam! This cinematographic adaptation is scheduled for August 9.
