The role of Nurse Ratched was much appreciated. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress, a BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe Award for her performance in the film. Louise Fletcher is the third actress, following Audrey Hepburn and Liza Minnelli, to win an Academy Award, BAFTA Award and Golden Globe Award for her performance in a single film.
