Oujda: Elements of the police force to use their service weapon to neutralize a suspect for intentional homicides

Rabat – Elements of the Oujda police headquarters were forced, on Sunday, to use their service weapon during a security operation intended to arrest a 42-year-old individual, suspected of being involved in intentional homicides and attempted murder once morest four women from the same family.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the suspect would have entered the home of his neighbours, for no apparent and logical reason, at least at this stage of the investigation, stabbing to death three women aged 76, 45 and 19. years, and injuring a fourth victim, said a statement from the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN).

The police elements intervened to neutralize the suspect, who was in an impulsive state and had barricaded himself in the house of the victims, were forced to use their service weapon, firing two warning bullets in the air, before target with four other bullets the lower limbs of the suspect, according to the same source.

The three remains were transferred to the morgue for autopsy, while the fourth victim was admitted to hospital, adds the DGSN, indicating that the defendant was placed under medical supervision at the hospital in the awaiting the stabilization of his state of health so that he can be submitted to the investigation procedures ordered by the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to elucidate the motives and circumstances of these criminal acts.
