Doha: South Korea lost to Ghana following a good fight in a five-goal match. Korea surrendered following making a strong comeback from two goals down. Cho Gyu Sung’s brace brought South Korea back. After going through a career slump at one point, Cho got into form following joining the military team. That is how he becomes a crucial presence in the Korean team.

Cho started his youth career as a defensive midfielder. But as he might not shine enough in the midfield, Cho started playing as a striker as per the instructions of the coach. He also made his debut at the senior level in 2019. K League 2 club FC Anyang will play first. Later in 2020, he moved to K League 1 club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

Cho Gyu Sung had a poor first season at the club. Later, Cho tied the boots for the military team. It was there that Cho Gyu Sung was transformed into a great footballer. Training in the military makes the actor physically and technically perfect. That’s how Cho becomes a dangerous striker on the field. Cho also became the best goalscorer in K League 1 in 2022. Cho Gyu Sung also helped the Jeonbuk team win the Korean FA Cup.

With a brace for South Korea, Cho Gyu-sung became the first player to score a brace for the country at the World Cup.
