Outbreak of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever in Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan – Latest News and Updates

Au Pakistanaccording to hospital sources, a new case of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (FHCC) has been reported to Quetta, province of BaloutchistanOct. 5, 2023. The case is a 30-year-old man from Ghausabad who was brought to the hospital with symptoms consistent with CCHF, including bleeding and fever.

Since January 2023, 37 cases of CCHF have been reported in Balochistan, while 13 people have died. The past year has seen an extraordinary increase in the number of CCHF cases, with most of those infected linked to the livestock sector.
