The first images of Ovid Guzman, following his arrest in Culiacán Sinaloa. The photographs, where the son of “El Chapo” now wears a beard, were published by the Los Noticieristas media outlet. After Culiacanazo 2, as this event became known, elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) admitted him to the maximum security prison El Altiplano, located in the State of Mexico.

Ovidio was arrested at 6:20 am as part of an Army and National Guard operation. They took a statement from him at the Specialized Prosecutor for Organized Crime (FEMDO) and from there he was airlifted.

It is the second time that the government has captured the son of Joaquin Guzman Loera, aka “El Chapo Guzmán”. In 2019 they had to release him due to the violent reaction of members of the Sinaloa cartel that led to the release of “El Ratón” as he is known Ovidiowith the argument of avoiding a massacre.

So far, six deaths have been reported, among them the Infantry Colonel, Juan Jose Moreno Orzua and 18 injured in clashes between hitmen from the Sinaloa Cartel and elements of the army.
