At the turn of 2023 to 2024, the Other World Computing (OWC) launched the Express 1M2 — an aluminum housing for Super-fast SSDsof the type NVMe M.2.
The product is available solo or in ready-made versions, with 1TB, 2TB, 4TB or even 8TB drives.
And now, we received one of these for testing. Check out our unboxing e hands-on full:
The product’s biggest difference lies in its heatsink-style aluminum construction (heat sink), which guarantees that the SSD will be able to maintain its operation at maximum performance — which OWC promises to be 3,151MB/s — for a long time.
It is also excellent that it is powered by the USB4 port itself, which is backwards compatible with USB 3.2 and also works via Thunderbolt 3 or 4 interfaces — but, to take advantage of the maximum performance that the product has to offer, you need to use it. it via USB4 or Thunderbolt 4.
On the OWC websitea Express 1M2 parte de US$95 by DIY casing, reaching up to US$1.150 for the version with a pre-installed 8TB SSD.

**[INTRO MUSIC]**
**HOST:** Welcome back to the show! Today we’re joined by Larry O’Connor, CEO and founder of Other World Computing, better known as OWC. Larry, thanks for being here.
**LARRY O’CONNOR:** It’s my pleasure to be here.
**HOST:** OWC has been making waves lately with its new Thunderbolt 4 SSDs. Can you tell our viewers a little about them?
**LARRY O’CONNOR:** Absolutely! We launched these drives at the beginning of 2024 and they’ve been incredibly well received. They leverage the power of Thunderbolt 4 technology, which delivers blazing fast speeds – up to 40Gbps. This means transferring large files, editing video, and running demanding applications is quicker and smoother than ever before.
