Palestinian journalist’s murder: Al Jazeera joins ICC | Al Jazeera to refer journalist Shireen Abu Akleh’s killing to ICC

JERUSALEM: Al Jazeera has said it will approach the International Criminal Court (ICC) for a transparent investigation into the murder of senior Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akhila.

Earlier this month, Al Jazeera’s chief reporter Shireen was shot dead by Israeli forces in the West Bank. The Palestinian Authority and the Al Jazeera channel claim that Shirin was deliberately killed by Israeli forces. However, Israel denied the allegations and withdrew from announcing an investigation.

The ICC launched an investigation into war crimes once morest Israel last year. But Israel, which is not a member of the ICC, has denied the allegations, saying it was biased. Al Jazeera will also file a case with the ICC for the Israeli bombing of an office in Gaza.
