Panjal’s Rising Pappadam Industry: A Success Story of Local Youth Making a Living and Thriving After Working Abroad

Panjal ∙ The youth of Panjal are making a living by making papadas in the country following working abroad. Ammuzhiparampil Ranjith (30) and his cousin Subin (29), who returned from working in Kuwait for 6 years, are active in making pappadam. They are graduates and started the company in Panjal last August. They make pappadam in 4 sizes.

100 to 150 kg of pappadam are sold daily and 200 to 250 kg in off season. Apart from them, there are 3 employees. A year following taking the loan and starting the company, they received the industry department’s award for excellence.
