Thrissur ∙ International players CV. Pappachan and Jopol Ancheri came face to face on the football field with excitement. The two clashed at the ground during a celebrity football match promoting the CPM district convention. The match ended in a draw when Pappachan XI scored, though Jopol Ancheri led the XI with a goal.
Mayor M.K. Varghese inaugurated the match with a ball. CPM District Secretary MM. Varghese, General Convener of the Organizing Committee, U.P. Joseph, District Secretariat members Murali Perunelli and Xavier Chittilappilly, Football Association Secretary Davis Mookkan and Vice President C. Sumesh and Sports Council President KR. Samba Sivan was also present.
