Paramedics, vulnerable group of the health union: Federated Colleges of Medicine

Corps of paramedics lack supplies and often enough preparation to attend emergencies, said the organization Federated Colleges of Medicine of Morelos, noting that they are “a vulnerable group of the health union.”

The treasurer of said civil association, Dr. Adriana Salgado Arriaga, commented that paramedics are also part of its affiliates, who face multiple deficiencies, to the extent that they often do not even have material to immobilize finger or hand injuries.

He said that, with the exception of the Mexican Red Cross, other rescuers also do not have enough personal protection equipment.

Salgado Arriaga called on the authorities to provide the necessary resources and sufficient training, since on some occasions they have observed young practitioners who are not ready to respond to serious emergencies.
