Parma Clima has bolstered its roster for the 2026 Italian baseball season with the signing of Ericson Neptali Leonora, a seasoned hitter with extensive experience in the Italian leagues. The club announced the agreement on March 6, 2026, adding a versatile player who can contribute both at the plate and in the field.
Leonora, born August 25, 1992, in Punto Fijo, Venezuela, brings a wealth of experience to Parma. He will play as a community athlete, qualifying through a Dutch passport obtained via his citizenship in Curacao, according to the team’s announcement. The addition of Leonora comes as Parma prepared for the possibility of losing position player Lasaracina to a professional organization, according to Parma Clima’s Director of Sport, Maurizio Renaud.
The 33-year-old Leonora is a right-handed batter and thrower, and has previously played for Bologna (2019, 2021), Grosseto (2022, 2024), San Marino (2023), and Macerata (2025). In his most recent season with Macerata in 2025, he finished with a .291 batting average, 25 runs batted in, and six home runs, including one at the Cavalli stadium during the semifinal series. Parma Baseball’s official announcement highlighted his ability to contribute immediately to the team’s offense.
Throughout six seasons in the Italian baseball league, Leonora has amassed an impressive record, totaling 33 home runs, a .356 batting average, and 148 runs batted in. Before arriving in Italy, Leonora spent time within the organizations of the Modern York Yankees and Arizona Diamondbacks (2009-2016) and competed in the Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional. Most recently, he played for the Willemsted Cannons in Curacao’s league and participated in the Caribbean Series representing the island nation.
Renaud emphasized Leonora’s versatility, noting his primary position is outfielder but he is also capable of playing first base. “We moved quickly, started a series of contacts and our choice fell with great satisfaction on Ericson Leonora, a versatile and experienced player who will aid us in the batting box,” Renaud stated, as reported by Baseball.it.
The signing of Leonora provides Parma Clima with a proven offensive threat as they prepare for the 2026 season. His experience in the Italian league and his ability to play multiple positions make him a valuable addition to the team’s roster. The club hopes Leonora’s presence will strengthen their lineup and contribute to a successful campaign.
As the 2026 season approaches, Parma Clima will look to integrate Leonora into their team dynamic and capitalize on his offensive capabilities. The team’s performance will depend on how effectively they can utilize his skills and experience throughout the year. Fans will be watching to see how Leonora impacts the team’s overall success.
