Pattambi > Pattambikaran Fazil Razak’s ‘Imprisonment’ at Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival. The Sentence, directed by Phasil, a native of Pattambi Kodalur, was selected for the competition category at the festival. Faasil entered the film industry through a short film. Fazil Razak’s short films won seven awards at the 2021 Kerala State Television Awards. Fazil’s debut film ‘Athir’ was adjudged the best film in the over 20 minutes category. Athir was awarded for Best Child Actor, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing and for his own ‘Pira’ for Shot Film Within 19 Minutes. He also received the best actor award. Tadav is the lone Malayalam film among the 14 films in competition at the Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival. The fair is from 27th to 5th November. More than 250 films from 70 languages will be screened at the fair. The film is produced by Fazil Razzaq and Pramod Dev under the banner of FR Productions and Bunch of Coconuts. Newcomers Beena R Chandran, PP Subramanian, MN Anitha, Wapu and Ishaq Muzaffir have played the lead roles. The film has more than forty new faces and was shot in and around Pattambi. There is also a peculiarity that the actors are completely Pattambikars.
