Patrick Pouyanné announces an anticipated increase of 2% for Totalenergies employees

This 2% increase for all employees will be paid “in the middle of the year” as “a deposit” on the overall increase which will be negotiated at the end of the year, announced the boss of the oil group on RTL.

A “way to prevent rather than cure”. Invited to our colleagues from RTL this Sunday, Patrick Pouyanné announced “a 2% increase to all Totalenergies employees in the middle of the year”, a sort of “down payment on the increase at the end of the year”.

For the CEO of the energy group, this measure shows that Totalenergies “learns the lessons” of what has happened in recent months. “As inflation continues and it will be at 4.5%, we will not wait for the end of the year (to increase wages) like last year”, when the company was confronted with “a crisis over wage increases”.

“The average increase was 10%” in 2022

In the fall of 2022, several refineries of Totalenergies but also other oil groups had been blocked by employees once morest a background of conflict over revaluations. A movement that had caused fuel shortages in many service stations in the country.

In the end, Totalenergies employees were “increased by 7.5% and they were given a 15% increase in their bonus, so the average increase was 10% in our company” in 2022, assures Patrick Pouyanné .
