Breaking News: Local Community Mourns Pearse, Remembering a Life of Family and Faith
Rocklands, Tubbercurry, and formerly of Treacy Avenue, Sligo, passed away peacefully at University Hospital, Sligo, surrounded by the warmth of his devoted family.
He is survived by a large network of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Anne (who passed away on October 27, 2025), as well as his parents Pauric and Annie, his brother Joe, and his nephew geoffrey.Pearse’s passing leaves a deep void in the lives of those who knew him.
He will be profoundly missed by his daughters fiona Brennan (Cloonacool) and Andrea Ballina, and Siobhan Loftus (Boston); his son Gerard (Tubbercurry); son-in-law John; Gerard’s partner Tara; grandchildren Niall, Aoife, Siobhan, Niamh, Fiachra, Grainne and Blaithín; great-grandchildren Grainne and Jack; and Niall’s partner Aisling.He was also fondly remembered by his sister Deirdre Jarvis (Florida),Anne McDonagh (Sligo),and brothers Jim,aidan,Kevin,Brendan,and Gerard (all in Sligo). Pearse was cherished by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and many friends.

Pearse will repose at the Morahan Funeral Home in Tubbercurry (F91 DV50) on Wednesday evening,from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and again from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral will arrive at St. John Evangelist Church, Tubbercurry, for Reception and Prayers at 8:00 p.m.
A Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday at 11:30 a.m., followed by burial at Rhue Cemetery. The Mass will be live-streamed at https://tubbercurrycloonacool.com/webcam/.
