This Wednesday, around 6 p.m., two young girls, one aged 7, the other 16, were hit by a motorist in Gerpinnes. According to our correspondent, they were crossing the pedestrian crossing near the Texaco gas pump, on the N5, when the accident occurred.
The driver, coming from Philippeville, did not see the two pedestrians because of the rain and hit them. He then stopped further away.
Seriously injured, the young girls were first stabilized on site by the emergency services, before being taken to hospital. Firefighters, two ambulances, two ambulances and the police were on site.
The road was diverted for some time, which caused some traffic congestion.
