Peißnitzbrücke should remain open until Sunday, the city should check ferry traffic – you’re Halle

The closure of the Peißnitz Bridge in Halle (Saale) caused a stir. Now it has to be open once more by at least Sunday.

“I have informed the responsible deputy that the aim must be to reopen the bridge up to and including Sunday, May 1st, in order to also enable direct access to the “SWH-Jazz” event on April 30th,” explains Mayor Egbert Geier according to the city administration.

The closure from Monday, May 2nd, 2022, which is mandatory due to security measures, should be ended before the start of the concert season on the Peißnitzbühne in mid-June and the start of the children’s town on June 24th. In addition, the city is examining a ferry solution across the Saale on the weekends.
