Peña: the creation of 500,000 jobs will be possible thanks to the joint effort with the productive sector

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, emphasized that the creation of 500,000 formal and quality jobs, which he promised during his campaign, is moving forward thanks to the productive sector. More than 78,000 jobs were created in the first quarter of the year.

“These advances are thanks to you, for betting on Paraguay and its growth,” he said this Saturday. during the official opening of Expo2024 Mariano Roque Alonso, with the participation of various production sectors.

In this context, he said that “this great objective of 500,000 jobs will not be possible without a collective effort. The participation of the productive sector is crucial. Job creation is a joint task and all of us here are part of the team.”

He also acknowledged that the leading role of small and medium-sized enterprises is essential, since they are the driving force of the Paraguayan economy and represent the largest source of employment for compatriots.

Along these lines, he said that the Government is seeking to position Paraguay in the world in order to attract foreign investment, but also urged national entrepreneurs to invest in the country, so that foreign investors are also enthusiastic regarding coming with more investments.

“But no investment will come if Paraguayans do not invest first. The best promotion of a country is to show the success of local initiatives; therefore, our main task is to inspire and encourage the national business community that is investing in Paraguay, but mainly to generate the climate conducive to the success of private initiatives,” said Peña.

The president stressed that Expo 2024 represents an essential platform for trade and attracting investments. He also highlighted the importance of supporting and strengthening national industries, giving them the tools and support they need to compete in an increasingly globalized world. “We are committed to promoting innovation, investment and training for this purpose,” he said in the context of the importance of the sector for the generation of new sources of job offers.
