POLICE are still continuing to investigate the death of a police officer from the Manado Police, North Sulawesi with the initials RAT, who was found dead allegedly by suicide in the Mampang area, South Jakarta. Police said the alleged cause of the victim taking his own life was due to personal problems.
“Alleged personal problems,” said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Ade Rahmat Idnal, Saturday (27/4).
Even so, Ade did not provide further details regarding the problem that made the police officer with the rank of brigadier commit suicide.
He only said that currently, his party was still examining a number of witnesses, including the victim’s family and friends.
It was previously known that a member of the Manado Police, North Sulawesi, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in a car on Jalan Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta. It is suspected that this member committed suicide.
“Yes, that’s right. It wasn’t a shooting. It was a suicide,” said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Ade Rahmat Idnal, when confirmed, Friday (26/4).
According to him, a member of the Manado Police with the rank of Brigadier was suspected of shooting himself using a firearm.
“Yes, he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head using a rifle (firearm),” he said. (Z-1)
