LIMA (AP) — Peru called up its star attacker Paolo Guerrero for the September matches once morest the soccer teams of Paraguay and Brazil for the qualifiers for the United States, Mexico and Canada 2026 World Cup.
The 39-year-old striker from the Ecuadorian University Sports League was the first to arrive in Lima to join the training sessions led by the new Peruvian coach Juan Reynoso. The Peruvian team arrives without the presence of striker Gianluca Lapadula, from Cagliari in Italy, who is recovering from injury.
Peru begins its participation in the visiting qualifiers in Ciudad del Este on September 7 once morest Paraguay, while in Lima it will receive Brazil on September 12.
