Peskov: The Kremlin pays great attention to the Chinese settlement plan in Ukraine

Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin is very attentive to the action plan proposed by China to resolve the situation in Ukraine. At the same time, he noted that at the moment the Kremlin does not see the prerequisites for peace negotiations and plans to move towards achieving the goals of the military operation.

“Any attempt to develop plans that will contribute to the transfer of the conflict to a peaceful course deserves attention. We treat the plan of our Chinese friends with such great attention,” said Dmitry Peskov. He stressed that the details of the Chinese plan should be carefully analyzed taking into account the interests of different parties.

At the same time, the press secretary said that the Russian authorities now do not see any prerequisites for “the exit of this whole story into a peaceful direction.” “So far, the special military operation continues, and we are moving towards achieving the goals that were set,” Dmitry Peskov concluded.

On February 24, China unveiled a plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. It lists 12 points, among which are the rejection of the “Cold War mentality”, respect for sovereignty, a ceasefire and the start of peace negotiations. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that China’s proposed set of talking points is not a peace plan. China’s proposals on the situation in Ukraine were also criticized in the United States and the European Union.
