Phil Spencer: I think Call of Duty will “play like a great Switch game” –

Things got heated just before the weekend as Microsoft and Activision Blizzard face the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) over the merger of the two former companies. While Sony has been the most vocal opponent of the acquisition, Nintendo has also been mooted, although we know they have no objections and have already given their approval.

One of the main reasons Nintendo did this is because Microsoft promised that Call of Duty would release in Nintendo’s formats in the future, bringing the franchise to a new audience. During the hearings, the FTC wanted to know if Switch audiences might expect the game to look like Xbox Series X. Xbox boss Phil Spencer responded:

“I think it will be a great Switch game. I don’t think it will look the same. »

Spencer also explained that Microsoft and Activision Blizzard would aim to make the game run at least as well as other third-party titles on the format, and preferably even better:

“Our goal is for it to be equal to or better than other Switch games. »

Do you think it’s possible to make a Call of Duty for Switch and run it satisfactorily?
