[PHOTOS] Hit by a cube truck: a pedestrian loses his life in Rosemont

A pedestrian in his 60s lost his life following being hit by a cube truck on Thursday followingnoon in the Rosemont district of Montreal.

The collision occurred around 2:20 p.m., at the corner of rue Beaubien Est and 9e Avenue.

The vehicle was exiting an alley near the intersection when it turned south onto 9e Avenue.

He then collided with a pedestrian coming from the opposite direction. After the victim fell to the ground, the truck passed over the pedestrian.

The man was then transported to a hospital center with serious injuries, where his death was unfortunately confirmed.

As for the driver of the cube truck, he was not injured, but suffered a nervous shock.

He should be met by investigators in the next few hours to give his version of the facts.

the 9e Avenue was completely closed to traffic between Beaubien Est and Saint-Zotique streets for the duration of the police investigation.
