As we reported to you over the past few days, the Pittsburgh Penguins have a few names of potential GMs on their list to take over following the dismissal of Ron Hextall a few weeks ago.

Among the list we can count the following names: Marc Bergevin (Special Advisor, Kings), Jason Botterill (Assistant-DG, Kraken), John Chayka (Former Coyotes GM), Mathieu Darche (Assistant-DG, Lightning) et Ryan Martin (Assistant-DG, Rangers).

But the turn of events in the NHL playoffs might change that.

According to what the journalist reports Tim Benz of Tribune-Review Sports of Pittsburgh, in the event that Toronto Maple Leafs senior management chooses not to renew the contract of its GM Kyle Dubas which comes to term this summer, as rumor has it, he would suddenly become the new favorite to land the Penguins GM job.

It remains to be seen what decision will be made in Toronto and if a major cleaning is announced, but if he were to leave the Leafs, everything indicates that Dubas would not remain unemployed for long.

More details will follow.
