Eric Raffin and Epsom d’Herfraie, it’s a tandem that works! The duo signed a fourth success in an event race during the winter meeting at Paris-Vincennes, this Thursday. The horse trained by Jean-Michel Baudouin, who is approaching the milestone of 100 victories in fifths (89), took the lead just before the climb to never leave it once more, containing the attack of El Holy Haufor (n° 3) in the final straight. Epsom d’Herfraie (n° 6), favorite of the event and only starter at the finish by returning 25 m, allows the Golden Sulky to win for the 60th time on the trot during the meeting.
The Holy Haufor, on which an investigation had been opened as for Favorite of Iton (n° 4), grabbed a good second place ahead of Flamme Vive (n° 2) who, shifted at the top of the climb by Franck Nivard, continued his effort well outside. Erasme Williams (n° 1), always well placed, and Favorite of Iton, which we did not expect at such a party, complete the good combination and spice up the reports, at the odds of… 92/1 and 117/1.
