PNM hopes to open up employment opportunities for people with disabilities (PNM Doc)

PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) continues to demonstrate its commitment to empowering people with disabilities. This effort is demonstrated through the Madani Vokasi Academy program to help them become economically empowered.

Madani Vokasi Academy itself is a form of PNM’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) to empower individuals with disabilities through skills training, work certification and vocational education to support certain applied skills.

According to PNM Corporate Secretary, L. Dodot Patria Ary, the absorption of disabled workers in Indonesia still needs to be continuously improved.

Therefore, PNM focuses on preparing people with disabilities to become entrepreneurs and hopes to open up employment opportunities for others.

“For people with disabilities who do not want to become formal workers, we try to open new opportunities and increase economic independence by providing them with entrepreneurial skills so that they can become superior entrepreneurs,” said Dodot.

The first theme carried by PNM in this program is a training in making various coffees attended by 20 people with disabilities. In addition, PNM also helps open wider market access by facilitating the opening of a coffee stand for people with disabilities in community gathering activities or kopdar.

Dodot also assessed that people with disabilities with high fighting spirit have a great opportunity to encourage the growth of the people’s economy.

“So it is important for all of us to collaborate to implement diversity, equity and inclusivity by giving them the same rights to get the opportunity to compete in the business world,” he concluded.

PNM itself has shown efforts to empower the disabled for a long time, starting from providing financing to PNM Mekaar disabled customers, clustering deaf batik customers, to the formation of the Madani Vokasi Academy program. (Adv)
