In the 2024 school year, the Pohang Office of Education introduced a new iteration of its village-level sports club program, integrating soccer and basketball for the first time. Specifically, schools such as Namjung and Namgo participated in these sports, with their efforts culminating in the 2024 school sports club operating evaluation. The program saw notable success, particularly in basketball, where several key events and achievements were recorded.
The basketball division participated with 15 schools and 12 schools compete in the competition, leading to the final four teams reaching the finals. Taking place on April 24, these final rounds were hosted by Pohang High School, one of the major educational institutions in the city. The finals were held on May 31 in conjunction with the League League, showcasing the hard-fought skills and teamwork of the participating students.
