The Kanne entity near Riemst in Limburg has been closed off by the police who fear the organization of an illegal rave party. All residents can enter and leave the town, but other people must submit to a check, confirmed the mayor of Riemst, Christian Bamps (CD&V) on Friday evening. Controls also take place in Bassenge in the province of Liège, on the other side of the linguistic border.

The mayor reported around 11:00 p.m. that all was calm in Kanne in the evening. The police are also supported by a helicopter and drones. The Albert Canal is also monitored.

About ten people were checked and have since left.

Reports of the possible holding of an illegal party reached the police who acted accordingly. There is currently no event of this kind that has been observed in Kanne.
