Police in Central District of Hong Kong Island cracked down on illegal parking, issued 641 “beef jerky” and towed 4 vehicles

The Central Police District, together with the officers of Traffic Hong Kong Island, launched a joint operation yesterday to crack down on illegal parking and other illegal acts that cause traffic jams. Officers took enforcement actions at various traffic violation black spots in the district, including Queen’s Road Central, Des Voeux Road Central, Connaught Road Central and Chater Road.

641 “Beef Jerky” issued

During the operation, the Police towed a total of four illegally parked vehicles that caused serious obstruction, and issued 641 fixed penalty notices, which mainly involved illegal parking, failure to obey traffic signs and road markings, etc. In addition, the police issued a total of 15 summonses for pedestrians not following traffic lights to cross the road and other violations.

The police also used mobile video to cooperate with traffic enforcement operations. During the period, 10 illegal vehicles were found, and relevant persons will be prosecuted.
