Police recovered a skunk dog that had been hit by a person riding a motorcycle

In a joint action between the community and local authorities, the National Police has carried out the rescue of a specimen of wildlife, specifically a skunk dog, in the town of Cabi, in Quibdó.

The rescue was carried out by agents from the Carabineros and Environmental Protection Directorate, in response to an emergency call made by a citizen concerned regarding the animal’s well-being.

According to this witness’s account, the skunk dog had been hit by a citizen who was traveling on a motorcycle.

Who, unfortunately, fled without providing assistance to the injured animal.

Given this situation, the uniformed officers arrived at the scene of the incident to provide medical attention to the skunk dog.

In collaboration with an official from the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Chocó (CODECHOCO).

The animal was transferred to the facilities of this entity for a more exhaustive evaluation by a veterinarian.

Once he received the necessary care and completed his recovery process.

They planned the release of the skunk dog into its natural habitat, thus guaranteeing its well-being and preserving its integrity.
