Jacques Kyabula Katwe was chosen as governor candidate by the UDPS platform and allies. However, voices speaking on condition of anonymity reveal that Félix Tshisekedi’s favorite would be the man in the pay of Moïse Katumbi following the divorce of the marriage between the president of the Ensemble pour la République party and the Tshisekedi regime.
Governor Kyabula, much criticized by the population of Haut-Katanga for his management considered poor, would in reality be Katumbi’s pawn. According to our sources, “the regime cannot base its policy on a man whose heart is far from the system, a man whose interest of the nation does not come before attachment to Moïse Katumbi.” In the process, the aforementioned source underlines “the existence of frequent night meetings between Kyabula and Katumbi, and the two would be engaged in the vision of leading the president of TP Mazembe to the head of the nation”.
If all these revelations prove certain, Félix Tshisekedi would then be surrounded by a group of predators undermining his efforts to restore order at all levels of the Congolese social scale. For his part, Jacques Kyabula Katwe remains one of two winners of Félix Tshisekedi’s first term at the head of the DRC.
