Pont-Château Cyclocross: The Ultimate Guide to the French Championship Circuit

2023-11-04 10:59:58

Pont-Château is a circuit known to cyclocross specialists. The French championship has stopped there regularly in recent years, the site also organized a World Cup round in 2019. Compared to France 2021, the route has been slightly modified.

After a long straight line on the road, the runners will dive into the meadow before facing the first difficulty: a 10% bump. There is then a series of 8 turns including two hairpins to approach a second hill (10%). The next portion, in a false descending flat, is quick. It is intersected by three flights of stairs. The last section of the route – following passing through the equipment station – winds through the meadow before tackling a bump (23%), two boards and a new bump (10%). The return to the line is carried out on a false flat rise, once more on the road.

The men will compete for the title for 60 minutes on this course, the women for 50 minutes.
