Pope: probable use of armored car in Iraq – Ultima Ora

(ANSA) – VATICAN CITY, 02 MAR – An armored car is always “available for the Pope’s travels. In this journey it is very likely that it will be used”. This was stated by the director of the Vatican press office Matteo Bruni in the briefing with journalists on the trip to Iraq (5-8 March). The Pope will always move around the cities with a closed car; an open car, the classic ‘popemobile’, should only be used at the Erbil stadium where he will celebrate Mass on Sunday 7 March in the afternoon.
