Hyderabad: Famous South Indian film star Sarath Babu (71) passed away. He was being treated at AIG Hospital due to infection. He is well-known to Malayalis through the films Sarapancharam, Dhanya and Daisy and has acted in more than 200 films in various languages.
Sarath Babu, whose health condition worsened due to infection, was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad from Bengaluru on April 20. Earlier, he was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Chennai.
He entered the cinema in 1973 and acted in Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi films in addition to Telugu. Sarath Babu’s other Malayalam films include Thanka Suryodayam in Sabarimala, Oru Kavita in Kanyakumari, Poonilamazha and Prasba Parisha Shaala.
Acting opposite Rajinikanth in Muthu and Annamalai earned Sarath Babu a lot of fans in Tamil as well.
