The sponsoring company for Tunisian tennis player Anas Jaber, nicknamed the Minister of Happiness, announced the postponement of her popular reception party until tomorrow, Friday.
The ceremony was scheduled for Thursday on the main Habib Bourguiba Street in the center of the capital to celebrate the achievements of the Tunisian star, who realized the final round of Wimbledon as the first player in Africa and the Arab region to achieve such an achievement in the four Grand Slams.
Anas Jaber returned to Tunisia on Wednesday, and was officially received at the airport by the ministers of youth and sports, women, transport and tourism, and the president of the Tunisian Tennis Federation.
A large number of fans and representatives of associations also attended to greet Anas Jaber.
The government operator of the mobile phone network and the official sponsor of the player sent text messages to urge Tunisians to come in large numbers to honor Jaber.
This year, Jaber won the Madrid and Berlin titles and lost the final of the Rome Games. In 2021, she won her first professional title in Birmingham.
After a marathon season, Jaber will rest for a few weeks, before resuming her participation in the US Open on August 29.
