The official website of the NHL has published a list of potential applicants for inclusion in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2023.

The list included four Russian hockey players: Sergei Gonchar, Alexander Maltsev, Boris Mikhailov and Alexander Mogilny. Other candidates include Henrik Lundqvist, Corey Crawford, Justin Williams, Tom Barrasso, Jennifer Botterill, Rod Brindamore, Karin Bai-Dietz, Megan Duggan, Patrick Elias, Theo Fleury, Curtis Joseph, Reggie Leach, Chris Osgood, Caroline Wellett, David Poyle, Jeremy Renick, Keith Tkachuk, Pierre Terjeon, Mike Vernon and Henrik Zetterberg.

Valery Kharlamov, Alexander Yakushev, Vladislav Tretiak, Vyacheslav Fetisov, Igor Larionov, Pavel Bure, Sergei Zubov, Sergei Fedorov and Sergei Makarov have already entered the hockey hall of fame.
