Shimla: Rahul Gandhi came forward to resolve the dispute between Congress leaders over the post of Chief Minister in Himachal Pradesh. Former Chief Minister Virbhadrasingh’s wife Pratibha Singh was the one who made the most claim for the post of Chief Minister. But in the assembly party MLAs meeting held in Shimla the other day, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was decided as the chief minister. He is also Rahul’s confidant and was sworn in as the 15th Chief Minister of Himachal today.
The Congress leadership was under the impression that Pratibha was ignored by the Congress leadership. But when Rahul Gandhi hugged Pratisa Singh during Sukh’s swearing-in ceremony, their animosity did not dissolve.
When the party leadership chose Sukhu as Chief Minister, Pratibha Singh’s family did not make their displeasure public. They took part in the swearing-in ceremony following miscalculations. It was there that Rahul hugged them.
Meanwhile, it is believed that his son Vikramaditya Singh will be included in the cabinet even though Pratibha has been sidelined. Pratibha Singh also says that it is almost certain that his son will be made a minister.
