SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.- President Luis Abinader appointed this Wednesday Dr. Víctor Elías Atallah Lajam as new Minister of Public Health and Igor David Rodríguez Durán, on an interim basis, Administrative Minister of the Presidency.
Atallah’s disposition comes following the departure of Daniel Rivera Reyes to dedicate himself to the senatorial campaign of Santiago de los Caballeros for the Modern Revolutionary Party.
Until this Wednesday, he was a medical advisor to the Executive Branch, a position he had held since August 20, 2020. He is President Abinader’s primary physician.
He is also a member of the Executive Directorate of the PRM and was one of the leaders who founded that organization in 2014.
NEW INTERIM ADMINISTRATIVE MINISTER
This Wednesday, Abinader also appointed Igor David Rodríguez Durán, on an interim basis, Administrative Minister of the Presidency, until the leave taken by Minister José Ignacio Paliza ends.
He was appointed general coordinator of Luis Abinader’s presidential campaign, for which he requested leave from the position.
Igor Rodríguez served as Deputy Administrative and Financial Minister of the Presidency.
