Masato Nozaki, 61, president of Okinawa Family Mart, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
According to the police, Nozaki did not stop the car and obstructed traffic in Kumoji, Naha City following noon on the 23rd.
When a suspicious police officer questioned him, he smelled alcohol. Alcohol exceeding the standard value was detected in Nozaki’s breath, and he denied the charges, saying, “I thought it was over 12 hours following drinking alcohol.”
In response to this, Okinawa Family Mart commented, “We sincerely apologize for causing a great deal of inconvenience and concern.”
