Weeks following the Ukrainian military launched an offensive to retake Russian-occupied territory, President Zelensky admitted in an interview that progress on the battlefield had been “slower than expected”.
Zelensky told the BBC, “Some people think that this is a Hollywood movie and expect the outcome now, no, it’s regarding people’s lives.”
According to Ukrainian officials, the counteroffensive has so far captured eight villages in the southern Zaporizhia region and the eastern Donetsk region.
