Demonstrators said goodbye to the President of the EU Parliament in Vienna with red paint bags.
A few minutes before Roberta Metsola’s departure for the airport, there was a loud protest by some pro-Palestine activists in front of the Federal Chancellery, during which buckets of red paint were spilled on people and a black limousine. However, EU Middle East policy was not officially an issue during the President of the EU Parliament’s flying visit to Vienna. Instead, the most important message from the Maltese was: “Please go vote!” Austria will send 20 members of parliament to the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg in the coming legislative period – one more than before. Nehammer advocates external border protection

In addition to illegal migration, one of the most important election issues for the EPP is strengthening the EU internal market in competition with the USA and China. The common economic area must be further developed and its advantages made clear to people, said 45-year-old Metsola.
