The commander of the “Center” grouping of troops, Andrei Mordvichev, was promoted to the rank of colonel general. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Assign the military rank of Colonel General to Andrey Nikolaevich Mordvichev,” says in the text of the document. The decree is published on the website of the official publication of legal acts.
Earlier, Mordvichev replaced Colonel General Alexander Lapin as commander of the Central Military District. Since then, he has been actively in command of the RF Armed Forces in the NVO zone.
