Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo “Investigation into allegations of Daejang-dong will be strictly dealt with regardless of the party’s status”
[아시아경제 김형민 기자] On the 30th, Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo ordered the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office to deal with the case of development preferential treatment in Daejang-dong, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, “strictly in accordance with laws and principles.”
In a text message sent to reporters on the same day, the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office said that President Kim emphasized that “the investigation should be carried out quickly and thoroughly, regardless of the ruling party, status, or position.”
President Kim continued, “Work closely with the police and other agencies to discover the substantive truth, and if necessary, share data.”
Previously, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office formed a team to investigate the Daejang-dong allegation the day before and started an intensive investigation. About 16 prosecutors were deployed. Kim Tae-hoon, the 4th Deputy Prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, decided to take the lead.
