Russian President Vladimir Putin has said his Jewish friends call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “a disgrace to the Jewish people” because he “covers neo-Nazis with his actions.” The comment was made on June 16 during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The head of state noted that in Ukraine during the Great Patriotic War, “1.5 million Jews were destroyed, primarily by the hands of Bandera.”
