It was Le Roy who recommended him to coach a team in Vietnam, Nam Dinh, and from there he began a journey that took him to AS Cherbourg, a fifth-division French team, and, later, to the Zambian team, where he won who won the 2012 Africa Cup. He managed to manage Lille, in the French first division, between May and November 2015, but it has been in African fields where he has achieved his greatest triumphs.
