Qatar Energy awards McDermott an engineering and procurement contract to expand the North Gas Field | Corporate News

Qatar Power has awarded the EPC contract for the offshore North Field Expansion Project to McDermott Middle East Limited.

The Qatari company said in a statement that the contract includes the construction of 13 unmanned production platforms, in addition to pipelines linking the fields and between onshore and offshore facilities, stations and buildings for control valves, without referring to the contract value.

The North Field Expansion Project will raise Qatar’s production capacity of liquefied natural gas from 77 to 126 million tons annually through the expansion projects of the eastern and southern sectors of the North Gas Field, starting from 2025.
